Side effects of kyphosis? + gym ball stuff [Jun. 7th, 2005|12:09 am]
Posture Issues
Has anyone experienced "side effects" of kyphosis, such as your voice being hoarse, your eyes being really sensitive, or that you seem to have loose skin or your stomach (this also has to do with my lordosis since it can make you look fat)? I'm experiencing all of the above, together with the typical side effect of bad posture - lack of energy and that you fatigue easily. These are things that has been bothering me for a long time and I've only recently connected them with my posture problems.

Another thing, I started using a gym ball yesterday (they're also called swiss ball, balance ball, posture ball etc). It felt great, I loved it right away. I keep the ball in a corner in the same room this computer is, and every now and then I go stretch out my back on it. The only thing is I have to get a new one, 'cause this one is a bit too big, and also, it doesn't have the anti-burst system, so if it gets punctured, it explodes like a balloon and you smash against the floor and hurt yourself. Otherwise.. =) ..it's the coolest thing.

Has the gym ball been helping, do you think? I used to use a ball to stretch out my back, but then I started getting neck pain from this so I stopped. I have very little flexibility in my upper back because of kyphosis. It's frustrating.
