I see there aren't many folks in this community, but the info page had such great resources and things, I thought it would be worth checking out. I have scoliosis and lordosis, diagnosed back in early elementary. I also have a fairly significant leg length discrepancy. I have a heel lift for the shorter leg, that partially compensates for the difference. Back pain, mostly lumbar area muscle spasms, has been a problem since I was about 12. I've pretty much just relied on ibuprofen and heatpacks as needed. Physical therapy and massage are things I've considered, but I'll check out what else is on the info page. So anyway, just saying hello.

hi, i remember seeing your icon in the socialanxiety community. i have SA and scoliosis also. i'm convinced there's a direct connection between the two problems!
scoliosis is seen as "idiopathic" but i think that's bs. it has to come from somewhere and it comes from our mental state of mind affecting how our body works.

Sure, I agree.
There's probably two main reasons why I have these problems. First of all, the rest of my family have similar problems, so I sort of inherited it. Also, I was bullied in school. I knew they didn't like me so I stared down at the floor because I didn't want to see their eyes. Good posture sends out "I'm proud", and I wasn't proud, so my posture was awful.

Yeah... I'd certainly thought about this before... I had significant depression kick in by age 5.. and in pictures at the same age is the first time you can see one hip higher/one shoulder lower.. perhaps it was just postural at that point... but it is interesting. And sad, actually.. wish I could go back and.. stand tall and proud.

I have seemingly gotten taller as I've put on some muscle... makes me hopeful that if I could develop the right muscles, through physical therapy or something, that I could be standing straighter, and be more comfortable.
